Introduction to Robert Rollins Pictures, Inc.
“Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. There is a land that I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue. And the dreams that you dared to dream, really do come true."
Growing up, the movie theater was my vehicle to go over the rainbow. In the darkness, the flickering of the movie projector would transport me to a world of adventure, beauty and romance. Heroes triumphed and villains paid for their crimes. This is vital because movies are about the dreams, illusions and myths that we all want to see come true. Robert Rollins Pictures intends to provide that magic.
The Wizard of Oz was a product of the studio factories. The films of MGM, Warner Bros., Paramount, 20th Century-Fox and Universal had economic advantages that no longer exist. The studios of this golden age had something more going for them though. Individuals like Louis B. Mayer, Jack Warner, Darryl F. Zanuck, Walt Disney and Adolph Zukor brought a unifying vision to their studios. The understanding these giants had of their audience helped create films that still speak to the public 70 years later.
Robert Rollins Pictures goal is to duplicate the creativity and dream-making process of the old studios. We intend to make movies which are small on cost but big on content. Our films are driven by interesting characters placed in compelling situations.I hope you will consider joining me in this venture and in making movies for years to come.
