Welcome to the premiere of my new comic series about the inter-galactic bounty hunter VENUS FLYTRAP. A new comic will be released every Monday on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the Robert Rollins Pictures blog.
Some of you who have known me for a while may recognize Venus as a character I created in high school. Originally Venus was developed to be a supporting character, but it didn’t take me long to realize this bounty hunter was a star in his own right.
Unfortunately for Venus, he took a backseat to my filmmaking career. In 2005, he resurfaced as a proposed skateboard decks and a comic strip series. But that was short lived as began work on directing the science fiction anthology feature film DREAM COUNTRY.
I started thinking about Venus again in March. I toyed around with drawing a couple of strips, not really thinking it was going to go anywhere. Sure I was having a blast drawing the comics but would anyone like them. Then I shared the comics with a few friends. They enjoyed what they were reading and suggested I post Venus on social media. So from March on, in-between my work on new film projects, I worked on drawing the VENUS FLYTRAP comic series.
Now I give them to you enjoy. I hope you have as much fun reading VENUS FLYTRAP as I had creating the comics.
